Cheesy but good A suspenseful romance, not too much of anything. An enjoyable read with a ditzy blonde bad "guy". The characters are imperfect but lovable.. SOLE WITNESS IS A SOLITARY READ Eh. Yep, that's about it. Eh. I struggled with this book and felt at times like I wanted to just give up, but I had received a copy of it to read in exchange for a review, and I was determined to do it. (And no, I have NO CLUE where my spawn got their stubbornness from.) I didn't HATE itand I didn't LOVE it. But over 200 pages of "eh"."Sole Witness" is a romantic suspense penned by first-time author, Jenn Black - who also wrote a regency novel as Janet Black that released on the same day (October 2012). For a first go, it really wasn't that bad; it was jus. "I Like Second Chance Love Stories" according to Janet. This novel is a 2nd chance love story wrapped up in suspense and the author does a good job with both. The characters are engaging, the dialogue appropriate to the characters and the situations, the setting interesting and the premise intriguing. I found the pacing to be uneven as the point of view shifted numerous times and made the story a bit hard to follow. The happily ever after was satisfying and the secondary characters were strong.*I received my copy from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
