Sugar Kowalczyk said Nice idea, but falls short. to speak nothing of the bad editing. This book would be a nice intro to the fashion world for a teenager that doesn't understand the differences between various careers in fashion. Apart from that, there isn't a lot of "meat" to speak of. Most of the profile bios are a bit bland. Kudos to the author, though, for not dwelling on only famous names -- most of those interviewed are the in-the-ranks designers, patternmakers, merchandisers, etc.I found the bad editing distracting. Just a few examples:- The first designer interviewed was alternatively credited as "Kerri Anne" and "Kerri Ann". Stick to one!- A Web s. Generic This book proved to be one of the same old same old. It contains only marginally interesting tips and suggestions for pursuing a fashion industry career. Maybe your money would be spent better on a larger, more expansive version.. "Creative Careers in Fashion" according to gardenswimmer. My niece and I selected this book for her home schooled course in Fashion. She is a high school senior and considering a career in fashion. This book has a readable style and is full of useful information about the nuances of the various careers in fashion. She's finding it very helpful in narrowing down her particular interests. A tremdously useful book for anyone interested in developing a career in the fashion industry.
