I cannot possibly say enough about how much my nine-year-old loves the entire series of Horrible History books. He devours them, so I am very grateful that Mr. Deary wrote so many. I only wish that we could get the Horrible History television show here in the US. We stayed with a friend in the UK and my son watched the episodes over and over again. They're hysterical. My son knows way more about history now than I do and it's wonderful to see him enjoying reading so much. (FYI the 'horrible' descri. I grab my phone to order a few of these books when I encounter middle-to-high schoolers who "think" they don't like to read. This is the medicine! I just send it to their folks and each student has confirmed how much fun it was to learn history this way.
