More than just thought provoking, Just Courage is faith-provoking, action-provoking, and provoking in general." (Beauty of the Bible, (beautyofthebible), October 28, 2008)"Haugen really opens the eyes of the reader to the realities of darkness. Every follower of Jesus should read this book and take action on behalf of a world that 'waits, groaning' for us to bring hope, love and rescue." (Lynne and Bill Hybels, Willow Creek Community Church)"Gary Haugen explores what it means to really care about those who suffer--and it isn't necessarily the path we might expect. Courage is required. Christians need to move out of the safety and into the world where they might get dirty, or hurt, or run out of town. Don't miss this book!" This book shows how we too can be a part of God's great expedition.. And there's a reason they're not satisfying your desire for something more significant and meaningful--we're created by God for adventure. But they're safe and comfortable and easy. International Justice Mission president Gary Haugen has found that engaging in the fight for justice is the most deeply satisfying way of life. "There must be more to the Christian life than this--more than church each Sunday and waving to my neighbors and giving some clothes to Goodwill when I go through my closet each spring." These aren't bad things, of course

Just Courage is well written and compelling I was concerned "Just Courage" would be a book about how the government or quasi-governmental organizations should step in and solve the problems of injustice. This book wisely sidesteps that problem by analogy - we can disagree what the perfect marriage looks like, but we all agree adultury is wrong. He discusses fighting slavery and oppression that we all agree is wrong, and argues that Christians should be doing so - NOW. There are many Christians already at it, and the rest of us need to get to work. Beware that this book will make you confront whether you want comfort or courage. I recommend it. A beautiful book This book is so inspiring and challenging - I think it's just what American Christians need. The author is right that it's so easy, here in the prosperous West, to choose to do the easy thing and be comfortable in our lives and in our faith, but in the end that is "lethal to the soul." This book is realistic and encouraging at the same time. I love it and have already recommended it to many of my friends. What a beautiful, exciting book!. "excellent take on justice" according to L. Keith. This book is a must read for anyone seeking to make a difference. As one man said, "Evil continues when good men do nothing".
