Pat said A win-win-win read. Honestly, when I picked up Red Tape, I expected to thumb through a few pages and toss my Kindle back in my carry-on bag. I was on a trans-Atlantic journey made longer by Hurricane Irene. I couldn't sleep and was getting shaky-leg in my cramped economy clas. "a good cause but a terrible book" according to HHB. This a dreadful 'thriller'. Very amateurish. The Tibetan cause and Buddhist philosophy ends up getting undermined by this bad writing. The so-called journalist filming the Tibetan slaughter that's the injustice at the heart of the drama takes a piece of pa. Good plot and premise, but very, very preachy TT WPB FL The basic idea was good, but boy, was this filled with sermons about environmental issues, political issues, etc etc. And I actually agree with nearly all of the author's positions - I just thought the writing was extremely heavy-handed.
