Boris said Exelent Book. Last year I decided to go back in Europe and finish my master degree in wine-making.I asked a friend of mine about his favorite book about this subject and he recommended me this book. When I started my semester one of the subjects was Wine Microbiology. What a pleasant surprise when our professor suggested us to get this book. It is very academically written book and I believe it is the most important book for all students in wine studies. After you know the fundamentals of wine microbiology you can explain yourself the different technology and approaches used by winemakers in the world.. "Reads like a Novella" according to Beebop. Most of this material is referenced from outside sources. Also, the book appears to have an inflated price point. The content of the book is very easy to read and the flow or style of the book reads like a short Novella. It's the kind of thing you could read in a couple of sittings. Don't be fooled, this is not a text book like Principles and Practices of Winemaking. It's more of a farmers almanac styled introduction to wine microbiology.

Winemaking from the vineyard to shipment of the bottled product is a series of challenges for winemaking staff. The introductory narrative of this book is designed to be an overview, from the wine microbiologist’s point of view, of those critical junctures in the process (CCPs) that are of concern in wine quality as well as intervention/control programs to address them. It has been revised and updated with recent data and conclusions in all chapters.. The second edition of Wine Microbiology builds upon the foundation of its highly successful predecessor with emphasis on modern molecular methods
