DESCRIPTION:
A simple single independent factor ANOVA is analysed first in conventional terms and then again in GLM terms to illustrate the two approaches. The text then goes on to cover the main designs, both independent and related ANOVA and ANCOVA, single and multi-factor designs. This book begins with a brief history of the separate development of ANOVA and regression analyses and demonstrates how both analysis forms are subsumed by the General Linear Model. Traditional approaches to ANOVA and ANCOVA are now being replaced by a General Linear Modeling (GLM) approach. Alternatives to traditional ANCO. The conventional statistical assumptions underlying ANOVA and ANCOVA are detailed and given expression in GLM terms
Very good book for ANCOVA SM-NM Catboy I like the author's GLM approach to and his explanations of ANOVA/ANCOVA. Readers needs to have an understanding of statistics, including ANOVA and regression analysis, to appreciate this book. I took off one star because although this book is meant to be concise (it is by far the thinnest statistics book I own), at times I felt it was too concise. Overall, highly recomm. "too dense of writing - there has to be better text for ANOVA out there" according to ZZ Walden. Way too dense of writing - there has to be better text for ANOVA out there
