High-level and hands-on I highly recommend this book to any system administratator trying to migrate over to Windows 2000. It strikes a great balance between delivering a high-level overview of essential new features and "in the trenches" hands-on advice for configuring a Windows 200 LAN. Strong both conceptually and practically. It's a winner!. I'm up and running thx to this book I bought this book to learn about Active Dir. It gave me mor than just the facts - it told me what to look out for and what to do. My network is running on windows 2000 now without a hitch! The only thing that was kind of weird was chapter 12 - it was out of place - it seemed like an overview that got stuck in the back of the book.

The best features of this book are the summaries and FAQs that conclude each chapter. "Fast-track" information isn't provided until chapter 12--a subject many savvy readers would find helpful closer to the beginning.
