Okay, what's in it? Okay, reviews are nice, but product information is better. Look inside would be helpful for those of us who know that it seems every publisher has their own idea about the levels of the pianist.. A Very Small Collection of 8 Hymns for Solo Piano This is a book 2 intermediate to late intermediate hymns for piano. I really think the book is more for the Late Intermediate student. I am an intermediate piano student and they are a bit challenging. I have not attempted the other 7 arrangements but The Old Rugged Cross is easily played by an intermediate, but it is quite challenging for an early intermediate student. I would say that it is not an easy book for a 3rd year student but the selections are arranged very nicely. The notes are large and the key signature is. Great for playing in church. This book is great for playing for communion/offertory during church. It has the times it takes to play each piece so you know if you will need to repeat a part or just play an excerpt from the song. Beautiful music.
These uplifting collections contains some of the best-known hymns as well as those which are not so familiar. These arrangements maintain the original melodies while adding altered harmonies and will serve well as supplemental materials for the piano lesson and especially well for preludes and offertories in the church.
